Commonly Uncommon

Common-occurring, found, or done often;

One common man met one common woman. Then they had a beautiful wedding in a lovely place on a common day. They exchanged common vowels, and pledged a common love. They lived a common life. Then they had the common experience of having a common child. THEIR LIVES WERE “NORMAL”

Then things became less common. The child proved to be less common. She faced a battle not everyone faces. The parents responded in a less common action of not just pursuing help, but pursuing help with joy. This common man and woman chose less common ways to face this less common battle. As they chose less common ways they became less common people. Instead of grumbling or wallowing, they lived the less common way of rejoicing and living. Less common opportunities came to them. And their less common humility and faith encouraged many common people to become less common. And as this less common couple lived a less common life, suddenly things became uncommon.

In a moment, on an uncommon day, a dreadfully common thing happened. But this less common couple chose an uncommon approach to this commonly dreadful moment. They chose to see joy in a commonly unjoyful time. And as this less common couple chose to live uncommon lives, they became uncommon. As people heard them, as people saw them, as people cried with them it was plain to see that God took 3 common people, through less common circumstances, and He strengthened them to be together an uncommon testimony of Gods great power and comfort.

But what one must see, is that God takes common people and asks them to live and respond in less common ways. And as these less common attitudes and lives are shaped to be less common, suddenly the common one is turned into the uncommon and doing and living uncommon lives. Thank you to the common people in my life that have allowed common situations to become uncommon and great. Thank you for showing a common man like me, that God wants to do uncommon things if we will just let Him.
