How much evidence is there for the reality of Jesus Christ’s life and His resurrection?

As you study history you come across several Roman historians that verify the life and death of Jesus Christ.

One of these men recorded the 3 hours of darkness after Christ’s crucifixion. Julius Africanus quotes Thallus and his observation of what appeared to be a 3 hour eclipse of the sun.

Tacitus, records the fact that Christ was indeed a real man who an entire group of people were named after.

A gentleman by the name of Sir Lionel Luckhoo (A Guinness Book of World Records holder for the most consecutive acquittals is quoted to say “I have spent more than 42 years as a defense trial lawyer appearing in many parts of the world and am still in active practice. I have been fortunate to secure a number of successes in jury trials and say unequivocally the evidence for the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is so overwhelming that it compels acceptance by proof which leaves absolutely no room for doubt.”

So by record of historical evidence there is plenty of proof for the life and resurrection Jesus Christ. But is that the world needs, for there to be enough historical proof and they will just believe? No, there seems to be something else that the world needs. And the answer lies within us. We are privileged to be given the evidence of Christ in us.

Our changed lives are the living and breathing proof of Jesus Christ. Do we ever consider the amazing fact that we get to be a part of God’s plan? Does your heart race at the thought that God has made His believers into the temple for His spirit to dwell. Our changed lives is the evidence for the Resurrection and Life of Christ.

May we see this Easter that the world is not looking for us to prove through scientific and historical fact that Jesus is alive. For that proof has already been given. What the world wants to see is the difference between us and them. So if you are a child of God live a changed life, for in doing so you are proclaiming the Lord’s Resurrection!
