If there is one area of our lives that is hard to trust Christ in, it’s with our time. If things don’t not happen in the time we expect or want to really begins to challenge our faith. If you are searching for God to do something, days can feels like years as we wait. And this waiting is even harder when we feel our desires are just and good. But no matter what the motives or expectations we must realize that Gods timing is perfect.
First, we must see that we should not get so wound up over time. Get caught up that God has revealed His mystery to those who believe. It’s not a mystery as a novel, but a mystery that was hidden and is now revealed. In Gods good pleasure He has made known to us His will. The mystery of salvation to all who believe and providing this salvation through Jesus. He is a revealing God, are we a revealing people?
Second, God’s plan is executed in Christ. By the generous and sacrificial death of Christ, we get to experience the generosity of Gods forgiveness and love. And this plan is fulfilled at the end of time in Christ. In Gods plan all wrongs will be set right. So when it seems that God’s timing is off in paying back the unjust. Or when people are resisting Gods plan for their life, we must realize that at the end of it all God will set straight all things. The chaos of this world will be brought into order and perfected in Heaven by Christ.
Third, God’s goal is to unify all in Christ. He will bring everything back from rebellion and place it under the feet of its creator, Jesus Christ. God is a unifying God and He wants everything to be brought back to where it belongs. So we must know that in Gods plan, His timing is perfect.
So do not get caught up in when something should happen. Take peace knowing that if what you desire is of the Lord, it will happen. Just in Gods timing. Don’t try to out guess God, just trust Him.
